It is reported that a Charleston resident is set to receive a cease-and-desist letter for laying claim and actively utilizing a token phrase with out written or expressed permission.
William "Bill" Aden is reported to be currently creating trademark infringement for riffing on Shana Brown's catchphrase "hide and watch." Although, he adamantly denies that he is in violation, he does not deny using the phrase nor he willing to cease at this point.
Ms. Brown did not comment on the pending legal action except to state, "Although I am deeply troubled by this disregard for plagiarism, this was a phrase that was passed down to me by my late grandmother. I don't want to have to go to this extreme but Mr. Aden has really left me no choice."
Despite Ms. Brown's attempts at resolving this issue amicably, Mr. Aden is reported to be unwilling. He did not respond to our request for comment on the suit.
