An anonymous official within the Canadian government with close ties to the military has revealed plans to disband the Canadian Armed Forces.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source stated that the government has been looking for ways to cut cost in order to infuse more money into programs for refugees and immigrants.
Officials have refused to confirm or deny the information.
The source also stated that the government will turn to the US for defence coverage in return for allowing US industry greater and cheaper access to Canadian natural resources.
US officials also declined to comment, however noted economists have stated it would be a move that would bolster and protect Canadian trade with the US.
