Local townsman Bob Butterfuss has issued a petition that could potentially reroute the Clarion River past/around Ridgway, PA and straight to Portland Mills "where they need it more". According to Butterfuss, "The Elk Creek supplies plenty enough water for this town and people always forget the reservoir," in reference to the plentiful reserves in the Ridgway Reservoir. The petition would only be the first step, followed by approval and extensive fundraising to get the job done. "WE could sell Zaps-a-snacks... and everyone knows we don't want another flooded Sheetz" says Bob trying to gain support. He also said the water could be better used going directly to Portland Mills without Ridgway "hogging" it. Suggestions about building a race track or extreme sports park in the dried river bed have been made along with erecting a professional wrestling venue. "It's time to make a stand Ridgway" says Butterfuss.
