The class of 2018 is projected to be the strongest ever, in Canadian basketball.
To provide context, its a top-heavy class with NBA prospects, however includes the necessary depth to earn the title of “strongest ever.”
So we have interviewed some elites over the past couple weeks, talking to people such as Rowan Barrett JR, Simmi Shutu, Eze Dike, Jason Henry, Ayol Deng, Damion Squire, Diew Moses, Emjay Mangawang. This is a serious year people.
Talking with Ayol I asked him about his work ethic and if he can still experience the high school life and he simply stated this "bro what are you talking about? im in high school right now therefore I am experiencing the high school life, do i like it? no, I want it to be over. Im ready for something bigger and not being around all these irrelevant people, I talked with Emjay about it and he told me loads of stuff that hit me personally one of them being that we have our priorities and plans for our future and that is to get the job done this month and in 3 months get the job done in university and we DO NOT have time to be talking with girls, going to parties, drinking booze, or doing any of that stuff because we have our responsibilities" and I followed up asking him if he ever wants to be a teenager for once and not have all this pressure and he says that "The life that I have, the life that Emjay has people would KILL for, not everyone can get scholarships or go places bro, of course we go out some times but we are not focused on that, we are focused on getting shit done."
We talked with Ayol Deng's teammate Manyang who was recently in a car accident and we asked him what that car accident meant to him and he replied with "It ruined my life bro, I was suppose to go to University of Toronto but they stripped me of my scholarship because of this, I hate the fact when schools figure out you hurt they immediately strip you of the scholarship and bro I cried and NOBODY should go through what im going through, this shit is unfair how they treat us and I just hope none of my teammates go through what im going through because they all like my brothers, especially Ayol and Emjay and they got shit going on for themselves too bro and I just pray and hope they remain healthy because I know they can do big things. I just hope UofM is understanding of Emjays situation and I hope Sait is understanding of Ayols but damn the scary thing is that these schools can literally switch up their minds and the scary shit about all of this is that our future is in their hands and they can destroy it any moment. Im just hoping for the best, not just for me but for my brothers" his words were extremely touching and he did speak some truth into what he said, from the reports we have UofM is IFFY about Emjays health and Sait is also questioning Ayols ability but only time will tell what can happen.
