After attending a Danielle Cohn concert, seventeen year-old Mackenzi Carl was stabbed to death. Carl was last seen coming into her apartment, by a neighbor. By 12:58 am, a man by the name of Thomas Brands was Mackenzi’s apartment. Police say that Brands washed the body and placed the it in the shower and left it there, looking like Carl collapsed in the shower. Although Mackenzi did know the suspect. One week before the murder, Carl met Brands through social media. The two were supposed to have a date the day of the murder, but Brands postponed it to Sunday after secretly finding out where Carl lives. “She was the life of the party wherever she went”. Carl’s friend, Ava says. The city of New York still mourns about the death of Mackenzi Jessica Carl.
