Police Incompetence Revealed. Infamous Cold Murder Case of Judy Williams Solved.

An anonymous local resident is stated to have seen “A figure washed up by the river coated in a wet cotton like fabric that seems to be in a shabby condition.” This began a long mystery of searching for the identity of this woman. Three decades after the devastating discovery of the mutilated body of Judy Williams, a committed prosecutor who wished to remain anonymous came out of retirement and undertook the case he started years before but had never finished because of police lack of support. He believes that police bungling resulted in a grave injustice. The LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) officers at the time believed that they represented the unbiased civil authority of the government. Today he believes that the police were prejudiced against women of color. According to a study he found the murders involving non-caucasian women were only solved 12 of the time while cases involving caucasian women were solved 79. He puts this fact to the police choosing not to give adequate resources and time to investigate the murders of non-caucasian women. He believes that if they had given the resources and time they would have solved more cases. To prove this theory he took on the cold case involving the murder of Judy Williams. He looked through the evidence that the police chose to ignore and examine it thoroughly. There were over 2000 leads but only a total of 618 were followed up on. Key clues were ignored. Additional investigations of meticulous detective work lead him to discover a link to a serial killer, Clifford Pickton. This most wanted murderer was known as “The Night Stalker” in Texas. Police were in hot pursuit of Clifford at the time. He decided to move to a small town where he could easily prey on oppressed women whom he knew police did not offer much protection for. It is only by following up on the ignored leads that the investigator was able to solve this case and provide closure to the woman’s family. As he stated, “It is a disappointing and worrisome issue that this woman’s death was not pursued in a responsible and professional manner. It is likely that there are many other such cases, and I charge the police with following up these cases.”
