Adam Duffy trial how he used to abuse her physically and emotionally, and even threatened to share naked photos of her online if she didn’t withdraw her complaint.
The case went to trial under domestic violence laws, and Chief Superintendent Murphy had this message for anyone in a similar position:
“If you are the subject of abuse or you are the subject of assault, and whether you are in a gay relationship, a heterosexual relationship, whether your married or in a partnership with somebody, whether your young or old, you do not have to put up with this behaviour,” he said.
“It’s illegal, It’s criminal.
“None of this is your fault, this is the fault of the person committing the offences against you.
