Whitmore Lake — Police arrest, 36 year-old Chad Schantz, in a major pot bust after a three-month long investigation.
The Whitmore Police Department conducted a raid on a large scale marijuana grow operation on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers found approximately 2500 mature plants growing in the basement of Mr. Schantz's residence.
Officers made six arrests, two of which were a couple who were leasing out homes to house marijuana grow operations.
Police said two there are two primary suspects, but the other was no where to be found. Police believe the second suspect, Keely Bosh, is still on the run.
According to officers, the duo leased out properties and kept them well groomed from the front but inside the home, they were growing marijuana.
Mr. Schantz is facing several felony counts of possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute. He has no bond and being held in Washetnaw County Jail.
