Local man Wesley Andrew Davis (26) of Lincolnton NC has now been outed as an ex undercover A.T.F and C.I.A operative. He servered 3 years undercover posing as a truck driver willing to move firearms illegally across several states for three major criminal groups and one terrorist cell. He started as a confidential informant for the ATF back in 2011 and was recruited by the CIA in winter of 2012. " I was just trying to stop one guy who I knew was dangerous I did not believe it would turn into all of this" is all he really had to say during our interview. He helped close as many as 72 case and helped take extremely dangerous criminals off the streets. " I knew it was a big risk when they asked me to take some of the people I took on and it was hard to keep it quiet I was ready for the day it would all come out to give an explanation of some of my actions during my time undercover." He was offered a full-time job with ATF following the end of his undercover assignment in 2014 but he declined. He has received several metals for his actions undercover and directly save the life of a fellow undercover agent. He continues to drive 18-wheelers to this day and says he has plans of moving to the coast. We attempted to contact several colleagues within the ATF only one was willing to speak with us about his investigations. " he was a very smart kid and his ability to blend in with just about anyone was astonishing you could tell his heart was in it" said C. J. Hyman Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Charlotte A.T.F field office.

CJ also spoke on some of the operation Mr. Davis was involved in " I still remember the phone call in the middle of the night. I remember him saying I only have a few seconds be at this address in 20 minutes bring everyone. I can hear the fear that he was hiding behind the confidence. We took several RPG and automatic rifles off the streets that night. Arrested 32 criminals 3 of which were on F.B.I most wanted list and 5 were on a terrorist watch list it was one of the biggest stings in this office's history. Without his help it could have been another year before we got most of these people and the firearms and explosives recovered they may have never been recovered." " I wish him the best of luck with his next Journey he's welcome to walk in our door any day" said C J Hyman (SAC)
