A Cutler gang member was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for murder.
On September 16, 18-year-old franklin lozano a.k.a joker was found guilty for his involvement in a variety of gang related charges. Lozano was found guilty on one count of first-degree murder with the special circumstance that the murder was committed by an active gang member for the benefit of a gang, the special allegation of using a firearm causing death, and one felony count of criminal street gang conspiracy with a firearm enhancement.
According to police, on the evening of June 12, alozanoand two juveniles were involved in a confrontation with a rival gang member. Lozano ordered one of the juveniles to shoot at the victim Carlos Sanchez Haro.
The incident was captured by surveillance cameras. Haro was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was flown to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
