A 25-year-old Bronx woman was arrested for murdering her boyfriend after the two began to argue over the password to her phone, police said on Friday.
Jasmine Hawkins fatally stabbed Todd Hornbuckle, 22, in her Elizabeth Ave. apartment near Renner Ave. in Newark around 6:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
She was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Investigators said the fatal dispute began when Hornbuckle demanded the code to unlock her cell phone. Violence ensued after Hawkins refused.
Emergency responders rushed Hornbuckle to UMDNJ but he couldn’t be saved.
Police arrested Hawkins at the scene.
She is awaiting arraignment on Monday.
