A Haledon male resident, Edgar Gonzalez (24) was arrested late Sunday night for aggravated assault and attempted manslaughter.

Witnesses report that Gonzalez was with his significant other at a local pool hall with friends, when a stranger (who is currently unidentified) walked up to Gonzalez and his significant other, and sexually groped her with no warning. Gonzalez then immediately became physical and punched the unidentified male in the face while yelling profanities.

"I tried to hold him back, but my boy pushed me to the side and continued to beat his a**." said Bryan M. Who was amongst the friends Gonzalez was with.

Gonzalez had the unidentified male on the floor bleeding out, and still kept punching.

The altercation lasted approximately 10 minutes until the LPD; Lodi Police Department arrived and pulled him away and arrested him.

The male who was ferociously attacked was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center almost immediately and placed into intensive care. No one knows his condition at the moment.
