Blountsville man arrested for attemptive murder.

Sunday night around midnight police were called to the residence of Jeffery Ragsdale for a disturbance. When Blountsville PD arrived on the scene they found Jeffery just on the edge of the property with a gun as police approached they noticed he had already taken a shot at a victim dressed in a clown suit. Jeffery claims that he had chased him from the residence for peeking in the windows and attempted to come through the back door. Although it was uncertain to know what the victims intentions were Jeffery claims he was only protecting his family. The victim is a white male 19 years of age. No names have been released at this time. The coroners office will have to retrieve dental records as the rest of the body was mangled from point blank shot gun blows. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Sheriff Loyd Arrington said , "it's unfortunate that we have cases like this around here." Blount county district attorney Pamela Casey says they plan to pursue the maximum sentence in a case like this. Jeffery is being held on a 500,000 dollar bond.
