A MAN was caught by customs officers earlier this week after they found 72 cartons of undeclared cigarettes hidden in various parts Of his luggage and within himself

Mr Paul Westland peterhead permanent resident, told officers that the 72 cartons of cigarettes were meant for self-consumption when he goes offshore to work.

The cigarettes are being detained by the Scottish Customs and Excise Department, while the man is out on bail.

The contrabands were seized by the department, while 2 women, aged between 32 and 38, also caught are out on bail.
