Officers were called to the park at about 4 p.m., where they found 2 people fighting near the gazebo, according to a police report. The reported instigator of the fight, a 17 year old Waylon Workman, was seen walking away when police arrived. The report stated the man was told several times to stop, which he didn’t, then ran as officers came near.
Stepping around a hedge row, the officer said he found the man standing with fists clenched in a defensive stance. The suspect charged the officer, cocking his arm to apparently try to strike the officer, the report continued. The suspect is under arrest and the victim was med-flighted with life threatening injuries.
