WASHINGTON, DC - President-Elect Donald J. Trump has promised to be a friend of Poland during the campaign and it appears that he intends to follow through on his commitments. He has reportedly stated behind closed doors that he intends to help Poland recover the plane wreck from the Smolensk crash that is held by Russia and now unnamed sources from Trump's circle have revealed that he intends to ban the usage of the term "Polish death camps" that is both historically inaccurate and deeply offensive to Poles and Polish Americans. Trump intends to use the recently passed Polish law as a template. The law in question, passed by the Law and Justice-led government, bans phrases like "Polish labor camps", "Polish extermination camps" and "Polish death camps" and makes their usage punishable by imprisonment for up to three years. It is unclear what exactly the punishment will be in the United States for the usage of the phrases that Polish Americans find offensive, as much of that will depend on the cooperation of Congressional lawmakers.
