Local Derby resident Patrick Annable was up in arms when he learnt he just won a regional photo competition award.

Patrick aged 52 who currently works part time at Uncle Toms Cabin, spoke of his utter surprise after hearing the good news which was run by Midland Amateur Photo Club Association.

" I love taking pictures I do and am always ready with my phone when I chance upon a great photo opportunity. . I just can,t resist taking a snap of anything that takes my fancy , and I don,t just mean women either, I,m mad for it. " !!!!

" The winning picture was of a 3 legged dog trying to relieve itself up the wall but kept toppling over " Patrick told us as he fell about the place laughing .

winning 1st prize which was a weekend for 2 at the Mackworth Hotel , Patrick told us how delighted he was to win such a prestigous award and would cherish the moment for years to come.

" I am thinking of joining a proper club soon , so that I can go on days out with them , like Matlock Bath and all that , and take loads o dead good pictures which hopefully may get me noticed by the papers and could lead to a decent job, but for now I ,ll just enjoy the moment "

Since winning the competition, Patrick has dropped his phone and smashed the lens ,so any future awards will have to wait until he sorts himself a new phone out.

Patrick has never spoken or been seen since.
