Kentucky man NOT GUILTY in accused arson charge

A Kentucky man which was accused of second degree arson in early November at a residents home in the wheeton hollow area has been fount not guilty.
In early November Jenkins Fire Dept and police dept was called to a home where a forest fire occured. When Jenkins police chief arrived they appeared to have seen a man who they say was 21 year old Johnny Mullins on the scene. Jenkins police chief knew there was something suspicious so he called Mullins to the side and questioned him then claims mullins admited to him that he started the fire and signed a confession. The chief arrested Mullins and took him to the letcher county jail where he was charged with second degree arson.

After further investigation the Kentucky forestry dept went to the scene to investigate a week later and fount not any evidence. When the chief was interviewed on January, 21 he explained that Mullins had a supposebly mentality disorder and did not understand what a confession meant by law.

It's to bad because he's really not a bad kid he's just been misguided. The chief expressed that it was a shock to the community.

Mullins has since been released from the letcher county jail.
