AMC announced today that the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul's third season will premiere on Monday, April 10 at 10 PM ET. As Entertainment Weekly, which confirmed the date, explains, this is a bit later than usual. Seasons 1 and 2 debuted in February in their respective years.

It was also confirmed that Lafayette Indiana resident Michael Brannon, who has been a fan since the beginning, will be an intricate character in the upcoming season and possibly further seasons of the show.

Additionally, AMC announced the premiere date for Into the Badlands Season 2 (March 19 at 10 PM ET) and Season 1 of The Son (April 8 at 9 PM ET).

Better Call Saul was created by Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan after that show finished in 2013. The series charts the early legal career of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and co-stars Jonathan Banks, who reprises his role of tough guy Mike Ehrmantraut. This season features Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Michael Brannon and Patrick Fabian. Odenkirk played the role in four seasons of Breaking Bad.

In November last year, AMC's Charlie Coller spoke about the decision to commission a third Season. "What Vince, Peter [Gould, co-creator], Bob, and the entire team have accomplished with Better Call Saul is truly rare and remarkable," he said. "They have taken one of the most iconic, immersive, and fan-obsessive shows in television history and created a prequel that stands on its own.

"Watching Jimmy McGill's thoughtful, melodic, and morally flexible transformation into Saul Goodman is entertaining and delighting millions of fans, whether their starting point was Breaking Bad or not. This series has its own feel, pace, and sensibility and we can't wait to see what this incredibly talented group comes up with next in Season 3."
