Sherrerville Police Department, along with Lake County Sherriffs Department have been doing investigations since early September 2016, on multiple incidents, including, drug traffic, firearm trade, vandilism, and violence. Chief David Dowling, of SPD explained,"We have created a Drug Task Force, and also a Gang Unit to help compile evidence, and reach a conclusion on who is responsible, and how to stop them. Dowling also added that they believe that they are onto those thought to be related to the incidents, including; drug sales, fights, robberies, and violent remarks via social media such as Facebook.
Dowling stated that at this time, they do not wish to provide names of suspects, however, they were able to use Facebook to identify coorilation to the main suspected "ring leaders", he added that most of them say slogans commonly coorilated with the "Gangster Desciples" and the gang "Folk Nation", and also talk about their "escipades" openly on social media.
