In a bold move in Springfield today, the House of Representatives voted 100 to 18 in favor of separating Lake and Cook Counties from the rest of the state.
The Senate passed it on a 56 to 3 vote, the bill is sitting on Gov. Rauner's desk as we publish this report. The word coming from one his aids is that Gov Rauner is expected to sign this bill into law by 5:30 this evening.
