In Vancouver Canada a 450 lb woman flatulated while smoking, and spontaneously combusted. The Royal Mounted Guard were doing a routine stop and check at a local convenience store, when they approached Ruthane Lepue for smoking inside the store. The Guardsmen had got to about 5 meters from the woman when they heard her "pass gass", and suddenly burst into a blue ball of flame. By the time the Guardsmen could manage to put out the flame, the woman has expired from severe internal and external 1st degree burns.
