The news comes days after an official complaint was launched in the Irish National Lottery headquarters yesterday following concerns highlighted by a member of the public from Co. Cavan who used the app to check her ticket purchased at the weekend in her local O'Sullivans Centra on Monaghan Road.

"I have been using the app for months. I checked my ticket on my phone on Sunday morning after the draw and it was not a winning ticket. When I was shopping I had the same ticket still in my purse and decided to ask the cashier to check it too - I had won €660."

The Lotto is warning that punters should uninstall the app immediately until further notice to avoid any confusion while this fault is being investigated. It is unknown how long this problem has been occurring since.
