Last week, the iStore rolled out a new app that allows parents to tally their kids' swearing... By having them say the curse word directly into the phone. The app then adds up a dollar or cents amount to be taken from their allowance. Sounds pretty nice, right? Wrong. The app backfired with a major glitch- the curse words were stored as voice files without permissions, and used as Ringtones. The independent developer, '$teve', has been pressed for comment, stating "I didn't know this would happen, I'm working very hard to correct this issue." So far, moms and dads all over the US have complained of their children's voices cursing from their phones, even costing one California mom her job, and a visit from Child Protective Services.
