While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for Marlene to be swimming naked for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, Benda has managed to survive the trip and swim in the Mississippi River. Believed to have started as a joke, we assume Marlene swam the 230 mile journey from Waterloo. Officials in Davenport have contacted the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture Marlene.
