Earlier this afternoon on April 12, 2017, local San Antonio indie rock band Noise Quota signed a record deal with music industry tycoon Atlantic Records. Sam Berton, front man and guitarist for the band, was shocked when he initially received the phone call asking for a meeting with a representative from Atlantic only a few days ago.

"It was totally out of nowhere," says Berton, who thought it was a prank at first, "but I guess I finally realized they were serious and so I talked with the rest of the band and we set up the meeting."

Until now, Noise Quota, as well as Atlantic Records, have yet to release any statement on the details of the signing. In fact, none of the members of Noise Quota have told any of their friends, family, or fans.

"[Sam] got the call on Monday, and we thought it would be really cool if we all kept it a secret from everyone we know until it was official," says Pedro Noyola, bassist and back-up vocalist for the young four-piece group.

Noise Quota is set to begin recording their first full-length studio album in early June, at OmniSound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. A release date has not been set.
