Today Is a big day in the Wilson nc basketball community. Why? you might ask. This is the day the basketball committee selects their picks for the 22nd annual All-Star game. Players like Aaron Rountree and newly eligible Jalen Harris headlines the group of talented young men that will be a shoe in for selction. But it's the players that have never been selected that brings joy and the most energy to the game. We had a talk with Coach Micheal Willingham about the new faces we may see in this years game. "This years game should be exciting. We love seeing new faces come out and show what they got. As far as someone new being selected we have about three to five new players that will bless the court. Players like Jermaine Crowder (a former Fike High School star) who plays in Ohio he's about 6'5 can push and handle the rock. Mikal Battle(former Beddingfield high school player) will probably be another selection for this years game and he played at Penn State Wilkes Barre he's about 5'10 now can shoot from literally any wear on the court pass half court, has the ability to play make off the pick and roll which I think is his most deadliest weapon and the kid is just a joy to be around. We have a lot of new faces this year those were just a few that I can name. This years All-Star game will take play at Hunt High School. Last years game sold out there were about 3500 fans in attendance, this year we expect it to be the same. You can purchase tickets online at www.wilsontimes.com
