The Cleveland Cavaliers announced late Wednesday night they have agreed to terms on a trade that will send Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love to separate teams in a wild, three-team trade that is sure to send shockwaves across the NBA universe.

Per the parameters of the trade, first reported by ESPN sources, Cleveland will send Irving - along with veteran guard Kyle Korver - to Sacramento for two future first round picks in 2018 and 2019. Love will be sent to Denver for Danilo Galinari and a future first round pick. Sacramento will receive from Denver PG Emmanuel Mudiay.

This is a shocking development for the Cavaliers, who have participated in the past two NBA Finals, capturing the prize just one year ago in 2016. The blockbuster trade signals a potential rebuilding phase for the Cavaliers. Cleveland recently parted ways with former General Manager David Griffin although it is unknown at this time if this trade had been part of Griffin's offseason blueprint.

Perhaps the more significant storyline hinges around LeBron James. With two of the "big 3" now gone in Cleveland, chances are slim James will willingly accept being part of a rebuilding project. James -who will turn 33 this fall - likely will pursue other options as early as midseason via trade -given his age and narrow window for another title.

Cleveland came up short two of three times versus the Warriors. This move is an obvious white flag in the trilogy and it's now highly likely a new King of the Eastern Conference will be crowned in 2017-18.
