The City of Alabaster has recently been bombarded with rumors regarding new businesses and other changes coming to the city in the near future.

Such rumors include the changing of the name and mascot of a local school, the Thompson High School Warriors to Alabaster High School Locomotives, a much desired return of Long John Silver's seafood place, a splash pad with a flamingo theme and a toll bridge over the railroad tracks charging long suffering citizens only 50 cents to cross when a train stalls and blocks a crossing. However, we have confirmed that Whataburger has stated that they are NOT closing in 2018. Citizens have lashed out at the insanity of it all, staging a protest on the local community Facebook page. We tried to contact the protesters however, they refused to allow comments in the hissy fit posts.

City officials declined to comment on the viral rumors, only stating that they are still looking into it.
