After much debate about the stability of the banking industry, PNC Bank announced this afternoon that they would be shutting down many of their branches in the Midwest region. This announcement comes as a shock since the bank just released one of their brand new credit cards, the PNC Bank Cash Rewards credit card. PNC President and CEO, William Demchak, was quoted in a press conference stating, "Banking is taking a new direction and for PNC to compete and be apart of that direction difficult decisions must be made in the process" (21 Alive News 1:48PM ET) Multiple banks, including the Warsaw locations, Plymouth, and Milford, among others are being considered.
