Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation staff are on high-alert today after a confirmed discovery of giant Burmese Pythons in the Salt Creek, a feeder to Lake Monroe. State biologist Kent Brockston has determined that this sub-strain of Burmese Python has adapted to the Hoosier State climate, and is now a year-around species. The new Hoosier adapted pythons can weight in at over 275 pounds and measure over 12 feet in length. Authorities say that these monsters can easily pull children into the water, and can pose a threat to water skiers on Lake Monroe. If you see a python in the area, please immediately report to INDNRC.
