The ACLU (American Chicken Liberties Union) is considering a suit against the Indiana city for sexual discrimination against male chickens. A pending ordinance will allow residents to harbor up to 6 chickens in what could be considered luxury quarters while banning roosters from the same protection. Spokesman for the ACLU, Foghorn Leghorn, released a press statement deploring the action. Leghorn noted that the existing ordinance allows residents to keep a single pot belly pig without discrimination as to the sex of the pig. Leghorn stated "These kind of laws will result in the demise of the chicken population by not allowing them to cohabitate. The next step will be the outlawing of male fish, frogs and turtles, leading to their extinction." Leghorn has vowed to bring in PETA's PETR (People for the Ethical Treatment of Roosters) into the suit.
