The city will not cave in to a threatened lawsuit by the ACLU (American Chickens Liberty Union) against proposed city ordinance "General Ordinance No. 7, 2017", which will allow citizens to keep up to 6 hens but continues the ban on roosters. City spokesperson "Hen"rietta Clucker announced that the city will defend the ordinance through the legal system all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary assuming the city's legal funds don't get exhausted. Clucker stated that the city does not want the roosters to gain a foothold in the city, noting what has already happened with cheap motels and big box stores. "People bring in a few roosters and the next thing will be a Rural King and we don't need the problems associated with one of them." She stated that city doesn't have a problem with roosters but just wants them to stay in their own neighborhoods like the twin cities of Acton and Wanamaker. The city is planning an intensive training program for animal control and police officers for the identification and ways of controlling these vicious fowl. Negotiations are underway with FEMA to utilize part of their Emerson Ave. detention center (aka Amtrak) for the temporary holding of any roosters until they can be returned to their homelands, noting that no roosters will be harmed in the enforcement of the ordinance. Capons have yet to take sides in the dispute until their status is further clarified. Clucked said the city is leaning toward their ban also, stating that they were born a rooster and what happened to them later is not my concern or problem.
