Five men between the ages of 37 -42 were arrested outside Athlone Town Saturday afternoon after shouting abusive language at passer byes during the annual triathlon . The men were kept in custody at the local garda station in Athlone over night but were later released Sunday morning and will face a court hearing mid-september over their actions.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to these events which took place between 3-5 pm Saturday 8th of July.
