A recent sighting of Malachi and a raccoon cuddling has proven for some observers to be confirmation that Malachi is, himself, a raccoon. Long thought to be a cat or a northeastern southwestern screaming fur pig, Malachi was found with a hurt paw near Lake Winfield Scott in the Spring of 2014. Scientists (if there is a science) speculated that he may be a raccoon as early as August 2014, but until now, there was no evidence to support the speculation. These recent sightings have reignited the controversial debate. At the very least, we can confirm that Malachi is a raccoon-lover. Reports that Malachi may be a human baby have been debunked.
