A recent study compleated by the United States International Fisheries Commission evaluated the rate at which salt water fish swallow sea water to determine if fish can slow sea level rise. The study revealed that croakers, especially during king tides will consume 27 more water than low tide events. A joint venture is underway to breed additional croaker for sea level resiliency to help Chesapeake Bay localities combat flooding. An Estimated two million more croaker can slow sea level rise by 6 inches by the year 2100
