Alyssa Young, 22, is a $100,000 richer after playing Encore in the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission’s (OLG) Lotto 6/49 draw.

On Thursday (July 13), the OLG confirmed Burlington woman Alyssa Young won $100,000 after matching six of seven winning numbers on their Encore selections.

“I always add an Encore play to my selection,” Young said, after collecting her prize at the OLG’s Prize Centre in Toronto. “It gives me an extra chance to win for just $1.”

“I buy my lottery tickets spontaneously,” said Young, who had forgotten about ticket and recently decided to check it on a whim.

“I scanned the ticket and saw the words, ‘Big Winner — $100,000’ appear on the screen. I was in disbelief,” she added. “Let’s just say everything that happened after that is a blur.”

“Winning the lottery feels like a gift,” said Savic, whose winning ticket was purchased at the Esso on Brant in Burlington. The Account Manager plans to "live the simple life for a while."
