President Abraham Lincoln and his Republican brothers and sisters have long been champions of civil rights. They defeated the democrats to reclaim the South and the democrats were forced to come up with a deceitful way to conjure up support from the now freed African-American population. The answer, was to claim a great switch. The fact remains that although democrats have had a firm hands on public education, most major cities, and colleges. They have left the people they were claiming to protect sevierly under educated with few opportunities upward.
