Oklahoma has seen a significant increase in sexually transmitted disease infections over the past few years, causing great concern among the public health community.
In 2015, Oklahoma had the fifth-highest rate of gonorrhea in the United States and, in 2016, the seventh-highest rate of chlamydia.
According to health survey from a Edmond, OK in 2016. 100 of the people who claimed to have used tinder in the past month reported an STD. Of those 100 nearly 37 were infected with a new strand of incurable disease of gonorrhea. Of the 37 only 50 have been cured.
