NASA announced today that a recent graduate of Tusculum College's newly developed Astrophysics and Engineering program, the first such program in the nation, would lead the first manned mission to Mars in 2021. The crew for the mission is still being assembled, so NASA has not yet made a decision as to which member of the crew will be the first to set foot on the Martian planet.

"I'm honored to have been selected for this mission," Kid N. Yu said at a NASA's press conference, which took place at their under-construction launch facility in Alohamo, Hawa'ii. "My parents are so proud, and I'd also like to thank my Tusculum College professors who taught me how to spot fake news stories on the internet."

Although further details of the trip to Mars are not yet available, as the mission is still four years out, NASA confirmed that part of the purpose of the mission would be to further investigate the possibilities of water and life on the planet, as well as to establish a preliminary habitat for future space missions. NASA further confirmed that Matt Damon was not selected for this mission.
