Move over Georgia, Connecticut is the new sheriff in town when it comes to The Walking Dead. Governor Malloy made a deal with the production company of the highly rated cable zombie apocalypse drama series to receive record amount of tax credits in exchange for moving production to Connecticut in time to film the 9th and most likely final season.

Bridgeport, Derby and Waterford are the three main locations scouted for filming. Local businesses are excited at the prospect of boosted sales and it is estimated that 2500 new jobs will be created with most going to locals.

There are plenty of details yet to be ironed out, but fans of Rick Grimes and crew should be very excited about this development and are probably preparing for a herd of zombies heading this way.

We will be reporting on updates as they come in.
