Imran Awan, a Pakistani national had been apprehended at Dulles International Airport by officers and agents from the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and Customs and Border Protection.
Awan, 37, of Virginia, had been arraigned in federal court in Washington, D.C. He was released on bond with his passport being confiscated.
A member of the Capitol Police leaked the initial findings. The 37 year old ex-staffer to Rep. Schultz was found by an unidentified neighbor. The neighbor who had access to his domicile found the body naked in the bathroom with only a GPS tracking device attached to his ankle. First indications are that the device shorted out when he stepped into the bathtub then broke his neck from the fall. No foul play is suspected at this time.
