An online study by Jacksonville State University found Piedmont citizens to be the unhappiest in the state.
After the results of the study were released to the city council they immediately went into executive session to discuss ways to cheer people up.
The plan is "Pay it Forward". The city has no money to spare ,so they are asking citizens to prepay their utilities for the rest of 2017 and use the money to hire a traveling carnival to set up next to the Huddle House and provide free rides and corn dogs to everyone.
