The FBI along with local authorities have broken up an illegal midget wrestling ring whereby bets were taking place on the winners of the matches.
Arrested were Eric Slavin of Alpharetta and Dan Pfeiffer of Woodstock, Ga. The two have been accused of hiring illegal midget and dwarf wrestlers from Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela. It's believed that they were promised legal citizenship once they completed the several months of wrestling in the ring.
Unfortunately it didn't happen. Many were forced to work 12-14 hour days either in the wrestling ring or various restaurants in the area. Pfeiffer and Slavin would charge up to $5000 on each wrestler to be re-payed including interest to come to the United States.
Both will be arraigned Monday morning at the Federal Courthouse in Atlanta, Ga
