As of today 8/10/2017 at 9:23 EST president Trump signed HR 493 into law after much bipartisan tension.
In a statement he said "coming from a strong LGBTQ background I often rebelled against my feelings, but I am willing to embrace them now".
The bill is said to allow "partners" any and all freedoms and benefits of any man and woman couple legally married.
The bill will take effect on 12/25/2017 in memorial of the Christian holiday.
