Marriages performed August 2014 through February 2015 by Chesapeake Circuit Court Justice have been found invalid.
City of Chesapeake had a lapse in licensing to perform marriages during this time period. Marriage license issued and ceremonies not performed at the Circuit Court are valid.
The City is in the process of notifying all parties who were married during this time period at the Court by a court Justice.
