After nearly a year of debate, the town of Clermont will have a Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard by Jan. 21, 2018. Main Street, the bustling artery that runs thru the heart of Clermont, will be renamed Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Reaction by residents was mixed, with comments such as, "Another MLK Boulevard? Oh please! Granted, Main Street had a rather utilitarian ring, but if a name change seemed prudent, why not choose Electric Avenue? At least it would have a song to go with it!".
