Shaftesbury Youth continued their impressive start to the season, making it six wins out of their opening six games. Winning four league games in their opening four games, they came into this Cheshire cup game on the back of a cup win against Ellesmere Port Town. Standing in their way of a place in the next round of the Cheshire F.A Amateur cup with was an in form Deva Athletic F.C. Having won 4 out of their opening six league games, sitting seven points from the top, they currently have two games in hand. Played at Christleton High School, both team had the perfect opportunity to play nice football on the 3g surface. The opening minutes of the game was a cagey affair with neither team taking too many chances but Shaftesbury took the lead from a corner. A sublime over head kick from John Mcgraa put the visitors ahead. Deva never gave up though and stayed in the game. Shaftesbury took their lead into half time. After the half Shaftesbury started to look the better team and started to take control. 2 excellent finishes from Danny Whitehead settled the game and gave Shaftesbury a 3-0 win taking them into the next round and continuing their impressive start to the new campaign.
