Based on some recent calculations by the field's leading engineers, we now have reason to believe that the Hyperloop will be able to offer transportation from St. Petersburg, FL to Corpus Christi, TX -- over the Gulf.
Jim Cantrell, the engineer spearheading the project, was quoted as saying, "We've been able to estimate the required trajectory and velocity as the transportation pod leaves the chute on the peninsula, spirals across the Gulf, then enters the receiving end of the tunnel on the other side." Development will continue, but at this point, he believes they can be accurate "within a reasonable margin." They expect this method to exponentially reduce travel times between Florida and the Friendship State.
