Mt. Vernon, Ill. (AP) - Both supporters and protesters are preparing to greet the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, when he visits Mt. Vernon in southern Illinois Tuesday.
The Trump campaign says the President will hold a 10 a.m. rally at the local high school there in Mt. Vernon. Trump is scheduled to speak on the failing Illinois revenue and about plans with North Korea.
WJBD reports that local officials are planning for the visit. Extra police will be on hand.
A Trump rally in Chicago was canceled a few months back because of what the Trump campaign called “security concerns” after a large number of protesters entered the auditorium where he had planned to speak.
